The Council is to introduce a ‘Football Match Parking Zone’ around Everton's new stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock f new parking measures are to be implemented surrounding the 52,888 seater stadium, similar to what is already in place around Goodison Park and Anfield.
The focus of the proposed parking zone covers the area within a 30-minute walk of Everton Stadium, which is serviced by the city’s historic “Dock Road”, and will encompass the surrounding Ten Streets district, into the city centre and up to Great Homer Street in Everton.

This highlights my one big concern about the new stadium. I live in North Wales and for Goodison matches it takes 45 - 60 minutes to drive in/home and park up about a 10 minute walk from the ground. At the moment I cant see anywhere much closer than where we currently park, which would be a 40 minute walk away. Public transport is not really an option, about 90 minutes if the trains are running (Bidston line notorious for issues), god knows how long to wait to catch a train leaving the match and possibly no return service for night matches.
Hopefully the club and council can work together and resolve some of these concerns quickly

I cant share your optimism John unfortunately. Theyve had the best part of 5 years to get it sorted. Rotherham in his hi vis jacket showcasing the crowd barriers says it all. Watch what Manchester council do to accommodate Utd, same if it was the RS rather than us LCC would be falling over backwards. The stadium is magnificent but I cant help feeling the club have taken their eye off the ball also with regard to access. Far too late to get anything meaningful sorted before the opening PL game.

I now live over 120 miles from Goodison/BMD and I'm disabled and can't walk far so getting to the ground is not going to be feasible I'm afraid except by taxi/bus to/from Lime St. Are there going to be buses from the city centre to the ground for all matches? Has this been sorted yet or is it still on the still to list?

Lyndon: What does Experimental Parking Zone actually mean. When is it going to be reviewed and a FINAL version going to be published for us all to see. I wonder if it will change??????

This seems shambolic, the lack of provision for stadium access has to be high on the agenda, the parking opposite the Arkles and the surrounding area at least give a nod to this need for stadium users.
We don't have trams so buses and taxis have to have functional drop off facilities, with park and ride options for those travelling into the area by car. How is this not in place already?

Whilst I can understand the idea of the parking zones - its the same at Goodison / Anfield so shouldnt be a surprise - the lack of planning around getting people to and from the stadium is shocking. Steve Rotherham showcasing a few dozen crowd barriers at Sandhills has got to be his idea of a joke! Luckily the council have put in a cycle lane down the dock road so all those matchday fans who go by pushbike are catered for at least. The rest of us including the elderly and disabled can look forward to the 40 min winter stroll into the city.
