The last ever Merseyside derby at Goodison Park takes place this Wednesday evening, fittingly under the lights.
Kick off is 7:30pm
The game is likely to come too soon for Nathan Patterson who tweaked a hamstring in training last week. Vitalii Mykolenko could be fit after being rested with a tight calf for the cup tie against Bournemouth.
Team News:
Everton XI: Pickford, O'Brien, Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mykolenko, Gueye, Garner, Lindstrøm, Ndiaye, Doucouré, Beto
Subs: Virginia, Begovic, Young, Heath, Keane, Iroegbunam, Harrison, Alcaraz, Sherif

Both teams lost this weekend and, in my opinion, both times it was mainly down to how the Manager set the team up.
Slot was just trying to be cute and it backfired.
Moyes was trying to find away to wash the Dyche out of the squad.
Hint; One nice pass last week isn't going to turn Tarkowski into John Stones.
In Derby's sometimes, in absence of better players - you need a sachet or two of Dyche in the mix.
Baby steps Moyesie, concentrate on getting them to pass it forwards to the guy in the blue shirt rather than backwards.
Score prediction; WE WIN! of course, but in reality - who knows.
10/02/2025 at 00:55:41
Day dreaming - another electric start and 2 goals within the first 10 minutes giving the basis of the 4 to nil win gets us to twelfth and then Id be convinced well be safe from the drop. It could happen…. itd be up there with the shock 4-0 against Citeh a few years ago!
The nightmare scenario is we are either swept aside without a fight, or a few are too psyched up and we make it easy for the ref to send a couple off and then they stroll to victory.
2025 already has a surreal feeling for a variety of reasons (the sudden changes on ToffeeWeb being one of them).
Not followed Gridiron for a number of years but Philadelphia Eagles currently dismantling Kansas City Chiefs seems like it may be the underdogs really surprising the favourites?
10/02/2025 at 02:12:36
Not a huge favourite Si. Two points, I think.
We cannot move O'Brien to the middle and keeping him at full-back is a real risk but we are so short-handed! We need Tarkowski next to Branthwaite, despite his recent poor performances, for his experience and guile. I never want to see Doucoure start another game now that we have real options. The selection issues for me are Garner/Ireogbunam and Harrison/Lindstrom.
I would like the team to be: Pickford, O,Brien, Branthwaite, Tarkowski, Young, Gueye, Garner, Lindstrom, Alcaraz, Ndiaye, Beto.
But, to be honest, more than a few of that team give me palpitations: O'Brin, Tarkowski, Young, Lindstrom, Beto.
All-in-all, with all his clubs, Moyes does not have a sparkling record against them: P42 W6 D10 L26 F35 A72. On a brighter note, his record for us alone is better than the overall one.
Let us all pray for the spirit of 9 September 2006.

Plymouth, Ho! Ho! Ho!
Standard set now guys.
10/02/2025 at 06:03:54
PF, #4, I would go mostly with your team but would go with Myko for Young if fit, purely for balance and recent decent games against Salah, and would bring Ireogbunam in for Beto, pack 5 across midfield and have Skilliman Ndiaye up front in a false 9 sort of position, having said that Id love Beto to give VVD a good mauling
10/02/2025 at 06:09:41
The lads need to be energised and disciplined to the maximum and let the crowd sweep them to victory.
History makers.
COYB.
10/02/2025 at 06:22:47
Really interesting pack 5, Jeff, and I really think that Ndiaye could play that role. I would definitely play the most improved player under Moyes Myko ahead of Young but word is that he will not be fit.
Good to see you here mate.
10/02/2025 at 09:37:54
Since Slot arrived and the RS started what seemingly, up to yesterday, was the "perfect" season, I think many of us (and many of other football following persuasions) have been waiting for the "wheels to come off".
The questions is, did this start yesterday, or ws it a "blip"?
I hope it was the shape of things to come, and that we follow on with a victory on Wednesday. UTFT (UpThe Fabulous Toffees)
10/02/2025 at 10:29:38
Hugh it wasn't a blip. They just played the reserves
10/02/2025 at 10:54:36
Jeff # 6 - “ having said that Id love Beto to give VVD a good a good mauling”. Well he is certainly physically big and strong enough - the question is - is he ‘ard enough?🤔.
I really hope so because I cant stand Van Dyke. He is a thug and sly with it. He has got away with it for years - its about time he got a dose of his own medicine. Horrible he is.
10/02/2025 at 13:07:28
Laurie, unfortunately no I dont think Beto is ard enough, your correct Van Dick always gets away with it, the assault on Richie last Thursday was deemed to be perfectly fine, no yellow, should have been red, but flapping your arms in celebration is considered to be worse than an elbow to the throat.
Id haved love Duncan Ferguson to come up against Dick van Dyke, now he was ard enough!
10/02/2025 at 14:33:23
Is Seamus fit? If so, put him in at right wing half and play O'Brien in a back three.
Myko on the other wing half and they can go back four depending on which wing the attack comes down.
When is McNeil back??
UTFT
10/02/2025 at 17:11:29
Can I just say that I can't stand those Mordor dwelling vile orcs
10/02/2025 at 17:28:22
Hope they were just resting myko to save him for this game.
Let's be real, it's going to be a tough one, like always.
I'd say its Konate we need to target. Dcl does well against him, so tell Beto to rough him up.
Going to need a big performance from the midfield Gana,Garner,Dacoure,Alacaraz & Tim will all have to play their part from the start or bench, if we are going to win, that's where the RS dominate teams. Tell the starters to run themselves in to the ground as we have legs to bring on.
1-0 hard fought win if I'm wearing by thick blue glasses.
10/02/2025 at 18:07:46
VVD is a snide cheating shithouse indeed. His cowardly injuring of James Rodriguez was typical of his snide cheating.
At least some justice was served when Pickford cleaned him out of the goalmouth properly.
10/02/2025 at 18:18:35
We have to get at them from the start, keep the crowd onside, intimidate the ref and dont let them dwell on the ball.
Myko has to be fit as he does very well against Salah. Play Jack wide right to help OBrien and Alcaraz in place of Doucoure - he and Ndiaye together will give us unpredictability and then something to worry about. Beto has to start with instructions to rough up their defenders and the team need reminding that he cant hold the ball with his back to goal.
This would be a very difficult game at full strength asi with 3 strikers and our most creative midfielder all injured it really is a shot in the dark. A good competitive performance is the bare minimum- Id love to hear why they were so off their game on Saturday. A point would be great, a win? Im being silly now but …..!!
10/02/2025 at 18:28:31
Hope Moyes has not made a Horlicks by playing Everton's best eleven on Saturday, while Liverpool rested 10 of their's on Sunday.
10/02/2025 at 18:33:53
Like a few other guys on here, Im also hoping that Doucoure doesnt play. Unless he can score another quick goal, then take him off. Joking folks, I suspect that Doucoure wont score that much more this season. Although Im always here to be proved wrong.
The team for Wednesday picks its self. With the fit players that we have available, we all know who will play. Although as Ive said, drop Doucoure. Give our new guy a run at them.
Linstrom or Harrison ? Dont think it really matters which one plays. Two weak links in my opinion. Both capable of doing something special. And both also capable of doing nothing. Take your pick.
So here we are. The last derby at Goodson. The last everything at Goodson. The season that I really did think that the management and players would strain everything to go out with a bang. A flourish.
A decent run at the cups. And no bloody relegation battle.
But Dyche had different thoughts. No attack, and just defend our way to safety. Thank god that he is gone. Phew.
And what about Moyes. Was really glad to see the back of him, last time around. Think it was that 3-0 defeat to Wigan that did it for me. Although there were many more awful results. Far too many to mention now.
But hes here. And so far ( apart from that cup defeat ) we cant complain. But lets put an end to any of that glass ceiling and knives to a gunfight nonsense. Dont need to hear that crap again.. We now be competitive in every match. Mr. Moyes, just have a proper go at every match.
Ok, ramble almost over. Lets get at this wee outfit that we play on Wednesday. Get a few decent balls played through the middle for Beto to run onto. Lets get Beto up and at them.
Lets get up a head of steam. And lets get away from the bottom end of the table. We are in touch with a few of the sky darlings, that arent that far above us. We can finish this season strong. Starting tomorrow.
That me almost finished. Just a last comment. Was good to see a comment from George Mckane the other day, on this new Evertonia site. Heres hoping that he graces us with a few of his monologues in the near future. And heres hoping that he has done his 4-0 bet this season. Its come up twice. Another 4-0 for us on Wednesday would be something else. Up the Toffees.
10/02/2025 at 21:41:51
Under normal circumstances I would agree with the people who dont want to see Doucoure, and I had this discussion with my oldest son yesterday.
I keep saying Id play him on the right because hes a very strong runner, especially if you can just get him running in straight lines and he his one of the players that Everton have got that wont be intimidated or bullied, imo.
Harrison, Garner and Gueye, Doucoure, and NDiaye playing in the number ten role is how I would start on Wednesday night.
Liverpool are going to get their central defender running across and blocking Beto at every opportunity, leaving Van Dyke, time to mop up every long pass, so we have got NDiaye, or Alkarez, in that little pocket that brings one of their central defenders towards the ball, and this might just give Beto the chance to bully their bully, on the floor?
Whatever happens you only win a derby game when you refuse to be bullied.
10/02/2025 at 23:49:33
Peter @16
Well said,he was also In an offside position when Pickford clattered him.
The one I really hate though is that little fly shite Robertson.
COYB.!
11/02/2025 at 08:14:25
Ive said it before and Ill say it again……Virgin Van Shite should have been sent off in the first ten minutes of that game for three cynical challenges on Rodrigues (2), and DCL. Not one yellow card was shown by Michael Oliver. He would have only missed only the one game due to suspension rather than the rest of the season. 😂😂😂.
11/02/2025 at 08:23:10
I still maintain that Pickford didn't even foul Dick van Dyke. He was just a keeper closing the angle and spreading himself.
I'm pumped for this match. It's no free hit when it's them and it's the last Goodison Derby.
But it's going to be tough. They're ruthless at the moment. Salad is scoring for fun and for all that we want Beto to get stuck into Dick, the fact is that they're levels apart in ability and Dick isn't exactly a shrinking violet.
But one last famous Goodison night? It could happen. Live in hope. COYB!
11/02/2025 at 08:42:58
I'm so happy that this last Goodison derby will be under the lights! It's so much better than 12.30pm on a Saturday (which was the original schedule). I believe that storm did us all a favour! We can now give GP a proper send off at night with a rousing derby win! UTFT! (fabulous, fantastic toffees :))
11/02/2025 at 08:47:38
I agree Jerome. RS rested 10 players for this game and suffered because of it! They will now want to take revenge on us to prove in some way that their plan was right all along! It's our job to inflict 2 losses on them and prove they were wrong completely! This would make a derby win here particulary sweet and we can all sing again 'You lost the league at Goodison Park!' (or am I dreaming?)
11/02/2025 at 11:03:58
As much as I would like to see Alcaraz start, it is David Moyes picking the side. My guess is that Doucoure will start again in the central advanced position.
Paul F, a 15% win rate for Moyes against Liverpool is dire. Maybe he will liberate himself tactically given this is a free hit after 3 wins.
11/02/2025 at 12:12:47
It's getting close. The team coach likely to be welcomed by a blue-smoked Goodison Road, as another symbolic finale takes place at Goodison Park.
I won't predict the lineup, as there are few options for changing from what we've had the past few weeks.
Despite our recent record against them, I will still believe that we can win. I do it with every match.
We can send them back to their elevated shoebox, throw a spanner in the title race and, more importantly, move one step closer to our own objective.
Whatever happens, don't give in Everton and Evertonians. The game isn't over until the 90th minute. Or should I say 98th these days?
11/02/2025 at 12:48:29
Danny, we beat them at Goodison last season so am assuming we'll beat them again.
John, 25. We may not be able to chant that tomorrow night when we have won, but 'you lost the cup at Home Park' still has a lovely ring to it!
11/02/2025 at 13:57:18
Interesting to see whether DM will put in both Ndiaye and Alcaraz in the same team.
11/02/2025 at 15:05:57
Ian, dont take this the wrong way mate, but we havent won a trophy in thirty fuckn years.
The last time we beat them at Goodison, it was brilliant taunting them with you lost the league at Goodison Pk, but singing about them going out the cup, is so small minded, and would make us Evertonians, sound really pathetic imo mate.
I hope we can antagonise them again tomorrow night because they have become so self-entitled, once again, and its music to my ears when they show their true colours.
Its our cup final they say but, they are the ones who have just rested 95% of their playing squad to get ready for Everton, so beating them again will absolutely bring out the very worst in them.
Lets fuckn hope so, anyway 🤞
11/02/2025 at 15:49:53
Antony, agree with everything you say. It would be small-minded and make us sound pathetic but when has that stopped football supporters :)
11/02/2025 at 15:57:37
Need to be competitive and keep it tight. No silly mistakes like on Saturday. Battle for every ball, tackle and get the crowd going.
Let's have a night to remember
11/02/2025 at 20:05:42
Liam, " A Night To Remember ! that was the epic film about the Titanic going down lol Let's not go there, and No Doucoure ! No, not the whipping boy, because he is useless, the epitome of what people get Dynarod out for !
11/02/2025 at 20:13:09
I'm with Tony,
Of course we can laugh at the Kopties with the Shrewsbury's, the Tranmere's and Oldham's.
But during the match, aside from the usual banter, let's keep it mostly focused on the blues.
It may only come back to bite us in the arse.
Let's put those arrogant, entitled non-believers to the sword with Goodison at it's ferocious best.
11/02/2025 at 20:17:46
Doucoure will start.
I remember that film. Came out on my 40th birthday
11/02/2025 at 20:39:40
Has Toffeweb gone down this evening?
getting 502 page server error.
11/02/2025 at 20:48:15
Jeff @ 36 back on I think
11/02/2025 at 22:17:11
It's back on but it's not getting any better
12/02/2025 at 09:00:56
Liam (35) the film Derek is referring to came out in 1958,and starred Kenneth more and Honor Blackman so, unless you are 107 years old, you are mixing it up with the film "Titanic" which came out in 1997, and starred, Leaonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.
12/02/2025 at 09:05:35
I wasn't mixing it up Hugh
12/02/2025 at 09:12:08
I dreamed last night that we drew 1-1 and that it snowed.
12/02/2025 at 09:25:17
In the bible dreaming of snow means something about cleansing of sin and a fresh start I believe
12/02/2025 at 09:51:54
Liam - Nothing in there about twatting the shite 4-0?
12/02/2025 at 10:02:28
The team talk tonight will be easy. Hopefully a counter attacking plan that looks to release the likes of Alcaraz might be deployed. Soaking up pressure a la Dycheball is ok as long as there is plan on top of that, which is obviously where he fell down in that final run of games. Theyll be smarting from their embarrassing cup exodus, hopefully we will show pride and want to leave a mark on the occasion. If the coach welcome galvanises the mood like its 2023, we may even take the points tonight- then the record will forever show we won more derbies than they did at the old lady. UTFT!

I would like to share a Derby Day story with my friends here on FB and The Dark House Blues and ToffeeWeb/Evertonia - it's not intended to be attention seeking but hopefully inspirational - - last years Goodison Derby was a Wednesday Night - - at that time I was in Isolation on a Cancer Ward at Arrowe park Hospital - - my family and I were told "I was going to die" - - I was in bed virtually unable to move but with help I managed to watch the Derby game on my iPad - - The Staff who were at all times magnificent were calling in regularly to ask the score - - of course we won 2-0 and I slept well - - the next morning one of my Consultants came in and said he was amazed that I was "still here" - - he saw my Everton Badge and said that he was at the Match and had then had a late night Celebration at The Brick Pub on Walton Road - - what a tremendous crazy World - - we laughed and Celebrated together for a few minutes - - I am Home now, as you know - - and recovering - - I was hoping to go to the game tonight - - I still have my Season Ticket - - but I am not well enough, and the cold weather would play havoc with my delicate Health. So, for the last Derby at Goodison, I will watch it on TV in my PJ's and Dressing Gown - - I can remember many Derby's over my 65+years of watching Everton - - I will miss the camaraderie of all my friends at TDH but I am there in spirit - - I promise - - I am not in the least bit miserable but after the struggles of last year for me my family and Everton - - everything is a bonus - - so Here We Go - - "Up The Blues"
"And I feel
Like I've been here before
Feel
Like I've been here before
And you know it makes me wonder
What's going on under the ground
Do you know?
Don't you wonder?
What's going on
Down under you
We have all been here before
We have all been here before
We have all been here before
We have all been here before
We have all been here before
We have all been here before"
Your friend - -George Mc Kane

Some facts sent to me last night.
Michael Oliver will be refereeing us for the 60th time - more than any other referee in our history.
We have not had a penalty awarded to us in a derby at Goodison since April 2003.
The last Liverpool player sent off at Goodison was Biscan in April 2001, 24 years ago. Since then, 9 Everton players have been sent off in Derby matches at Goodison.
You can bookmark this for tomorrow.
12/02/2025 at 10:19:34
Greetings
Looks like the gang have come over here - great to see you guys here - did you Slot's attempt at influencing the referee, how pitiful is that?
Nervous about tonight but hoping for the best, last Goodison Derby, wouldn't it be great to go out in style with a Joe Royle-esque Dogs of War effort in battering them.
12/02/2025 at 10:19:40
Hopefully Georges magical karma will overcome all though!
Great that you are feeling a bit better George.
12/02/2025 at 10:21:55
Put your feet up and enjoy the game George. Hopefully you'll be able to celebrate after with a few other Crosby tunes
12/02/2025 at 11:34:28
Liam (40)- Touche.
12/02/2025 at 11:47:27
George, you are indeed a true inspiration.
I have always enjoyed your posts and was so pleased to see you back, today of all days!
Whatever happens tonight George, we will stand together as one big Everton family. Sending you some cosmic vibes.
12/02/2025 at 12:09:58
Hope we can do the business tonight,Id hate the rs to have the bragging rights over derby wins at Goodison with the situation being 41 each.COYB
12/02/2025 at 13:28:06
Steve@47
Thanks for those damning refereeing facts.
It is very disappointing that Oliver is refereeing us yet again. He is one of the worst ever, on a par with Stokes in the 60s and Thomas in the 70s.
12/02/2025 at 13:47:34
George enjoy the game and all the best.
12/02/2025 at 14:05:33
Good to get on here now that TWeb has gone all AI and clickbait. I'll miss it after 20 odd years. Here's to Evertonia and all of us free transfers. 2-0 to the blues tonight and a barrel full of shithousery by both sides.
12/02/2025 at 14:08:48
Hi all, first time poster and blue for getting on 60 years. Would just love a win tonight and think that would go a long way to removing relegation worries. Also a spanner in the R/S works……whats not to like?

12/02/2025 at 14:11:01
Wishing all of you going to the game tonight to have a great night. Think of it like Bayern and what Howard Kendal said, get the ball into the box and let the fans in the Gwladys St or Park end suck the ball into the net.
Wish I were there but will be glued to it in the pub probably outnumbered by the dark siders.
COYB
12/02/2025 at 14:18:20
Just hoping we can get the ball thru to Beto, make VVD turn, could get some joy that way. Definitely need runners coming thru the middle, that's why I'd be starting Carlos Alcaraz instead of Doucoure. #COYB

The older I get, the more I despise them. Please Blues, something akin to last year would be wonderful. 🤞

Heres my take on Goodisons final derby game, if anyone is interested (and Lyndon doesnt mind me posting it here):
12/02/2025 at 15:29:10
Apologies, the link doesnt seem to work if you click on it but will if you ‘copy and paste. Not that Im saying its worth it. In fact, I probably wouldnt even waste my time if was you.

George McKane
I shall be drinking to your health
And best wishes for a Poso result tonight.
12/02/2025 at 16:29:43
Worked fine for me John.
12/02/2025 at 16:35:10
Just don't see Moyes changing much from the team he's had a good start with.
Love to see Alacaraz get a start though but think he will be on the bench.
Young for Myko will be the only likely change if he's recovered.
I hope the horrible, entitled, tourist attraction, moaning, gobshites think they just have to turn up because, I believe goodison will be at its peak nastiness tonight for this one !
12/02/2025 at 16:59:35
Best wishes George you make me smile.
Now this lot. Tarks has a smile when he fluffs but an equal smile when he does the business. Much will be on his shoulders tonight and Ill be very pleased when he knocks the supercilious grins off their faces.
They play with an arrogance that they cant be beaten, but they can and on the final derby at Goodison under the lights what more can we wish for.
COYB just do it.
12/02/2025 at 17:15:14
Liam, you need to delete all your Toffeeweb searches in settings ( cache). That will sort it.
12/02/2025 at 17:25:59
George, wishing you all the best, and lots of reasons for smiling tonight.
12/02/2025 at 17:29:09
Is there a live forum running this evening on Evertonia? I think there was on Saturday.
12/02/2025 at 17:41:40
Kim,I think the live forum is still only available on Toffeeweb, I think Lyndon mentioned thats where to go for now at least.
12/02/2025 at 17:44:52
Inspirational George, just like the kids who have just been standing on top of the bus stop outside the brick, with Blue Pyros, in their hands, as I drove along county Rd.
12/02/2025 at 17:49:20
Although this seems exactly the same as the TW. live forum!
12/02/2025 at 18:07:11
As usual, my nerves are a bit jangly before this match.
First hope is to make a good game of it and not get thrashed.
Second hope is we beat them and Ill wake up with a sore head but still feel elated tomorrow morning.
Would like to see Mykolenko back, thought I saw signs of improvement in recent matches and hope that hell still be a decent player.
Alcaraz to get on the scoresheet tonight?
12/02/2025 at 18:08:01
Whats the go with Stake giving up their licence in the UK. Does that mean we are looking for a new sponsor?
12/02/2025 at 18:16:47
Aah right, cheers Jeff
12/02/2025 at 18:17:41
No prematch preview?
12/02/2025 at 18:20:29
Nigel, from today's Athletic:
'The UK Gambling Commission confirmed on Wednesday that it will be writing to Everton, alongside two other football clubs with unlicensed sponsors, to warn them of the risks of the promotion of unlawful gambling sites.'
And this additional background from the same article:
'Earlier this month, Stake was the subject of an investigation launched by the UKs Gambling Commission. The investigation was into a video distributed widely on social media that displayed Stakes logo. The video featured an adult entertainment actress outside of Nottingham Trent University. The Friedkin Group, who completed its takeover of Everton in December, will be looking to increase revenues and is already targetting a new naming rights deal for the new Everton Stadium, which is due to become the clubs home next season. When approached for comment by The Athletic, a Stake spokesperson said: “Stake has made a strategic decision in mutual agreement with TGP Europe to exit white-label agreements and focus on securing local licenses through our in-house platform and operations, building upon our growth in key regulated markets such as our recent expansions into Italy and Brazil.”'
One might well assume then that this particular shirt sponsorship has now been internally declared dead and buried. Friedkin's AS Roma has more savory shirt sponsorship deals with Riyadh Season (men's team) and TIM Telecommunications (women and youth), so they will certainly be well into lining up a new deal to replace Stake.
12/02/2025 at 18:21:00
Alcaraz on the bench. Is Moyes the man with the disc beard in disguise ? Hopefully he'll come on and be the difference. Alcaraz to score. 1-0 to Everton UTFT's
12/02/2025 at 18:23:23
Glad Myko is fit.
12/02/2025 at 18:31:56
I'll be glad to see the back of Stake.
Team looks like it's got a couple of cracks in it to me.
Doucourie must be playing blinders during training. I just hope he can go from zero to hero tonight, and I hope Beto's been eating plenty of Paprika - (increases aggression in dogs I'm told!)
12/02/2025 at 18:37:26
Alcaraz of the bench is a great option.
12/02/2025 at 18:42:42
Can anybody suggest a link where I can stream the match?
12/02/2025 at 19:04:47
How do I get on the live forum?
12/02/2025 at 19:05:21
Did our lovable neighbours not try to 'brick' our team coach?
12/02/2025 at 19:15:41
Quite emotional seeing Goodison lit up this evening, even if only on the TV.
A thing of beauty and very dear to me, my dad and my grandad before him.
BM looks fantastic though and Im all for change when its done right. Time for a new era and renewed success.
Now lets twat these cocky gobshites and show them whose city this is.
12/02/2025 at 19:20:50

12/02/2025 at 19:52:17
Got to get stuck in against these Gobshites and not sit back and invite them onto us
12/02/2025 at 19:52:37
C'mon Illy get up mate!
12/02/2025 at 19:53:42
I was really hoping Alcaraz would get the nod, Doucoure offers so little to this team...
12/02/2025 at 19:53:52
Our best player crocked against these - could have scripted that
12/02/2025 at 19:54:21
Looks like Ndiaye right ankle is gone after he kicked the ground during the earlier challenge
12/02/2025 at 19:55:41
Harrison coming on - on the left maybe?
12/02/2025 at 19:56:22
TW is dead in the water.
This will have to do for the time being.
Ndiaye getting injured is very bad news.
12/02/2025 at 19:58:23
FFS scratch what I said about Ndiaye ankle as his knee is covered in deep heat but looks like ligaments, I hope it's not as bad as it looked with his reaction as ge hobbled off
12/02/2025 at 20:00:55
c'mon tit for tat boys - break their legs!!
12/02/2025 at 20:04:16
John that's in bad taste fella, when you watch the repeat Ndiaye kicked the ground under pressure but wasn't touched but won the freekick
12/02/2025 at 20:07:09
I'm sorry Brendan - just a little excited! I really hate these RS though!
12/02/2025 at 20:08:01
How many yellows already? This fixture has tons of red cards - it'll be 3v3 at the end!
12/02/2025 at 20:10:19
Harrison looking good on the left - it's only taken 18 months to allow him to play in his best position!
12/02/2025 at 20:11:33
I hate the Gobshites with a passion too John but I want us to do them over fairly.
Oliver will fuck us over at some point
12/02/2025 at 20:15:56
Okay, crocking the ref might be a good plan :)
12/02/2025 at 20:22:58
A lot of shithousery as predicted
12/02/2025 at 20:24:23
Okay it seems TW has a LF and everyone is there!
12/02/2025 at 20:24:43
Definite red coming second half, just gutted about Ndiaye getting crocked, allowed the shite to get further up the pitch with our main threat off.
12/02/2025 at 20:26:45
Massive historical 2nd half...COYFBB
12/02/2025 at 20:27:06
Lindstrom is lightweight and had 2 chances to make crosses one a free kick and made a mess of both. Get Alvarez on.
12/02/2025 at 20:29:33
Moyes needs to be sensible with substitutions now that one of our three slots has been used getting Harrison on for Ndiaye.
Doucs has got to be swapped out for Charly to give us more creativity and threat as Doucs offers nothing apart from running around like a headless chicken also being on a yellow it's a risk of an invitation to send off one of our boys.
Gana on a yellow is a red card waiting to happen so swap him out for Timmy.
Lindstrom also on a yellow hasn't offered enough swap him out for Heath although Moyes would likely pick Young instead of Heath.
12/02/2025 at 20:32:16
I agree Brendan, he should do a h/t sub so as not to waste any of the 2 remaining slots
12/02/2025 at 20:45:18
Doucoure has been a liability tonight
12/02/2025 at 20:45:42
Sounds like all fire and brimstone, all decisions going to the RS
12/02/2025 at 20:55:01
Should have been a pen and Jones should be off. VAR being consistent
12/02/2025 at 21:06:48
Makes no odds who wins and it looks like them, we have played well tonight despite losing our talisman so early
12/02/2025 at 21:08:07
Bollocks, still got time to react, cmon you blue boys
12/02/2025 at 21:10:04
Doucoure is just not a big enough threat.
Your number 10 has to be a good footballer.
Moyes missed a trick not playing Alcaraz in there to cause some chaos.
Moyes' record against the top sides has never been impressive.
12/02/2025 at 21:19:04
A 40 year old defender coming on for our best midfielder tonight when we need a goal WTF?
12/02/2025 at 21:25:22
Why is Young running around up front and Alcaraz is playing deep????
12/02/2025 at 21:35:36
Tarkowski is now a Legend for that
12/02/2025 at 21:37:43
Amazing finish, Doucoure being a tit but at least he's out of the side now
12/02/2025 at 21:44:54
Now Alcaraz will be able to replace Doucoure: result. Great to silence and annoy the whining RS
12/02/2025 at 21:50:12
Loved that finish, Tarks take a bow. I dont know who from the Gwladys street end was legging it with the corner flag after we scored but needs to be told we need it, weve got a few more games yet!
12/02/2025 at 21:53:08
What a strike by Tarks. Loved seeing Duke ripping the piss out of the RS at the end. Snidey, nice. What a result. We deserved more in truth. Captain Fantastic. What a thumping strike. Tears before bedtime. The Old Lady rocking UTFT's
12/02/2025 at 21:53:36
All is forgiven Tarks...my dodgy stream died and I got a text off a friend so quickly plugged back in to see VAR decision and kick off. We deserved that draw - Moyes has been impressive since he arrived.
12/02/2025 at 22:05:41
Decent game, eh?
12/02/2025 at 22:10:38
FUCK YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
UTFT
12/02/2025 at 22:15:19
Looks like Moyes got it right. No side effects from the FA Cup, as Tony and Brendan said.Grear result and deserved.
12/02/2025 at 22:24:32
Absolutely great finish. Well deserved.
12/02/2025 at 22:41:44
Such a sweet ending... and we get to own the memorable moment to finish Goodison Derbies. For 30 minutes or so, it had looked like that lot would.
The performance itself was pretty good and I thought we were worth a draw, even if it didn't look like it once they got ahead. Unfortunately we can't forget that some of these players are still pretty limited even if we have found "ways to be more effective in front of goal".
Harrison was as bad as I've ever seen him - and that's saying something. He looks terrified of making a decision. And I've never seen a player lose more 50/50 type situations. He just has a knack of coming out without the ball.
Beto is at times hilariously bad (great goal though). Same goes for Doucoure. But they're both players that you can't help but like even if you know they shouldn't be in the side. I'll put the Ukrainian Warrior in that category too.
Enjoying a draw isn't like enjoying a win. But as far as draws go, that was enjoyable!
Onwards Evertonians.
12/02/2025 at 22:44:46
Oh what a night! From watching the coach arrive to that goal. I'm just so happy.
My husband is even happier because I've lost my voice with singing.
12/02/2025 at 22:53:20
Thank God for that.
And Doucoure's card should be rescinded. He was attacked by a sore "loser" after being abused by a gang of murderers for 90-odd minutes.
Of course, the media wouldn't have it. Mourinho thinks he has it bad in Turkey.
12/02/2025 at 22:59:19
The noise and ecstacy at the ground, when it went in, was up there. Wish some of the expats, fans from far flung places and the lovely George McKane could have been there.
UTFT
12/02/2025 at 23:04:49
I was desperate for a win, but being so close to a very very disgustingly sore defeat, am delighted with Tarky's Rocket! Get in there!! UTFT. FTRS. And... in future, on the banks of the royal blue Mersey, 💙 NSNO.
13/02/2025 at 00:39:22
Now that was a proper derby with some top-drawer shithousery on both side and some top-drawer cowardice from Oliver who lost control of the game too many times to count and told us all we need to know about him when he did not send Bradley off.
One thing that really thrilled and cheered my was Davey Moyes after that goal (what a way to say bye to the Old Lady derby!) and the final whistle.
Whatever any one of us thinks about Moyes, and I'm not one of his biggest fans, no one should be in any doubt that he loves Everton.
Quite frankly, I was unhappy with the appointment but I will be happy to see Moysey lead us out at BMD in August.
I'm sorry I can't join in the celebration of Doucoure's celebration. He was a tit. I love shithousery but he looked a total tit going off the pitch. And it's not as if he is anything special. He got an assist for the shite and missed a sitter. I did like the way he put himself about and he covered ground today. This might be his best match in ages, but I don't give a toss that he will be missing over the weekend.
Hoping that access Goodison has some footage from the dressing room and tunnel.
Tarks has made a place for himself in history. Van Basten would have been so proud if he had scored that.
COYFB
13/02/2025 at 01:04:25
Right on Paul! That was as honorable a finale at Goodison as we could want. Let's not overlook Beto heading that ball to Tark. He knew exactly what he was doing and with pressure on, it was a crucial assist. Just seeing Curtis Jones with his handbag drawn was enough to make this feel like a victory.
UTOFM eh?!!!
13/02/2025 at 01:18:06
Im ok with the draw. Wanted to win of course, but this feels like a win. We denied them the 3points, so that is ok for me.
Sometimes, just sometimes, a draw is ok.
Bring on Palace now on Saturday. Tough match, but we can beat them. Lets start to climb this league.
We amassed a measly 17 points under Dyche, thats 10 points now under Moyes. And 14 matches to go. A fair amount of them are winnable.
Not that long ago, supporters were wondering were our next points were coming from. Well theres 10 for starters. Hypothetical now, but how many would we have mustered if Dyche was still here?
We will now see how we play without Doucoure for our next match. A player that I and many others wanted to see dropped.
Well we have now got our way. Although tbh Id have still have wanted him on our ever so threadbare bench. Lets see who comes in. Probably Tim.
With hindsight now, we should have kept Armstrong back.
Hopefully Ndiayes injury is not too bad. I dont know, I havent read anything yet about his injury. Shame now if we lose this guy for any length of time. So I suppose now Id prefer to see Alcaraz play. Hopefully not Harrison for Ndiaye.
For me its either Harrison or Linstrom for the right wing spot. Not both of them playing. Id like it if we had better than those two, but we dont, so its Linstrom for me. Only just. Harrison then on the bench.
A bench that is getting even more threadbare.
Anyhow, not speaking for anyone else, but Im ok with the draw.
Its now all about getting points, and climbing the league. Thats all its really always been about for this season. And then see what happens in the summer. Are our new owners going to have us playing like the 1970 Brazil team. Well I can dream.
We rattled them at the end tonight, and they didnt like it. So fair play to everyone. Goodnight folks. Up the Toffees.
13/02/2025 at 01:27:04
Dale #149, it was Tim who headed that ball over to Tarks.
What a moment to get his first assist for Everton.
13/02/2025 at 01:37:35
Just a last point. Moyes speaking after the match, said that he wanted us to be a big club again. Think I know what he meant, only he didnt say it that well. He should have said that he wants us to be competitive again. That he wants us to be successful. That he wants us to win football matches and win trophies.
Saying that he wants us to be a big club again, didnt just sound right to me. Because we have always been a big club. Theres no again in it. We have always been a big club. Always.
13/02/2025 at 01:40:30
Dammit Mike! I just saw the replay and came back to correct that. Well, I haven't lost my TW form at Evertonia have I?
13/02/2025 at 01:54:43
Apt that is felt like a struggle, overcoming adversity against them as it has been the case for most of the last 55 years with the glorious exception of Howard's winning blues in 1984-87 and Joe's domination of them in the mid-90s.
Goodison boiled over, it was a tense scrap and the fantastic conclusion was no better than we deserved. Redemption for Tarks after last Saturday and he has now written himself into Everton history.
We now have 8 players injured with Ndiaye going off and Doucs suspended. It is great that we have the points in the bag and David Moyes has done an excellent job. I simply don't think he is even a mid-term solution but he deserves to take us to BMD.
Well done to him!
13/02/2025 at 01:58:36
Victor, I get a real sense with Moyes that he's dampening expectations. I don't want to be critical but it was always a tactic of his.
His constant reference to having us above Liverpool when he left but the gap has now never been bigger feels like it's along similar lines.
It may also be that he's trying to get the club to think about us being in a building phase rather than thinking we have a divine right to our status.
Let's be honest, most of the world no longer think of us as a big club. We have to earn that status again.
13/02/2025 at 02:06:44
For what it's worth I don't see any real controversy.
Bradley's second foul wasn't a pull back and would have been very harsh. You could make a case for Gueye's pull back but, again, it would be pretty harsh. Branthwaite had a worse hold on Salah in the first half go unpunished.
The goal went in at 97:07. With a minimum 5 minutes added and play stopped for 2 minutes for the head clash it's not like Oliver played a massive amount over the minimum. And it is only a minimum.
On the goal, Konate didn't even appeal for a foul. Not even after the ball went in. He was weak in that situation and knew it as he put his head in his hands.
Plenty of 'I've seen them given' and 'if it's given, VAR wouldn't overturn it' type situations. I thought our probably shout was probably the strongest complaint either team could have. And it wasn't cast iron.
The 'afters' were dealt with about right. Doucoure didn't need to go to them. Jones reacted. Those yellow cards are fair enough.
I don't see this 'he lost control of the game' argument. It was a Derby, played with passion, and with a last second equaliser. Which part of that would Oliver ever have control of?
13/02/2025 at 02:08:47
Dammit "I think our probably shout" should read "I think our penalty shout".
I desperately need my edit button, Lyndon!

^^ I've watched this 100 times tonight, swear.
This one is just special.
Still pumping adrenaline. I think I could take on Brock Lesnar and beat the shit out of him right now.
13/02/2025 at 03:08:47
I've been going through the Getty Images photos of the night. Still trying to figure out how I document the last year of Goodison in my home.
Not sure if this derby produced the images that will make it into the final reckoning... but some of those last moments of the match are a big chance.
13/02/2025 at 03:24:03
Frank Fearns 66; Tarks has a smile when he fluffs but an equal smile when he does the business. Much will be on his shoulders tonight and Ill be very pleased when he knocks the supercilious grins off their faces.
Frank, can please give me some lottery numbers mate.
13/02/2025 at 04:24:49
It was only a draw but the prospect of losing the last derby at Goodison was awful so I'm over the moon.
I like Slot( it annoys me)but if is so good to see that one night under lights at Goodison was enough for him to lise his rag😀
13/02/2025 at 05:43:19
Wonderful performance to draw a 4 goaler with a fully rested Liverpool side. It shows what good shape that we're in and yet we get such a critical injury. I said it before though, right or wrong, sometimes these are opportunities rather than the disasters that they seem to be. Moyes seems to have produced Everton sized miracles since coming.
13/02/2025 at 05:56:57
It's almost unbearable reading their complaints. They're never ending.
Plus the "you celebrated a draw like you'd won the league". No, we celebrated a 98th minute equaliser in our last ever Goodison Derby.
They're a funny lot.
13/02/2025 at 07:19:09
What a magnificent, moving, and even teary and heartbreaking report by Phil McNulty, that just got me near 1AM here, with the heat in my house at 35F as the furnace is fucked and will be replaced Thursday, just smiling with the warmest feelings about The Old Lady that I first stepped into as a three-year-old.
He just gets it and gets everything right.

It seems, we have been as low as we can go, without actually getting relegated.
Moyes is back, and in fairness, does seem to be able to inspire the team to greater things than the last manager.
We've played our last derby at Goodison Park and whilst we might not be able to sing" you lost the league at Goodson Park", this time, we have definitely put a dent in their ambitions.
Hopefully, with Moyse' input, we can now start moving up the league and taking points of the clubs that historically we have always been able to beat easily.
Next season, and the future, and our new ownership, will, hopefully, see us starting to reclaim our former place in British football hierarchy.
I, for one, am praying for that.
13/02/2025 at 09:20:22
Paul (165) thank you for the link.
13/02/2025 at 09:35:00
Paul (#165). As a journalist Phil McNulty has an obligation to remain impartial. But he is a blue - and it comes through in this article.
13/02/2025 at 10:36:37
Thought Beto outstanding tonight. Hold up play was a lot better, finished his goal superbly and played a part in the 2nd as well. He will only get better with more games.
13/02/2025 at 10:58:42
"Who could we get that's any better than Dyche, and who would come here anyway?". Remember those comments on TW? Question answered
13/02/2025 at 16:54:05
Rub it in Mick, rub it in maaaan.
13/02/2025 at 20:37:53
Wait until Phil McNulty writes about the last ever game at The Old Lady Mike.He was born in Croxteth. Went to De la Salle. Didn't our Wayne also go to De la Salle?
13/02/2025 at 20:47:22
Ernie 155 and 164.
I must have a miserable life, but I actually Saw the extra time again with a stop watch. As you said app 2 minutes for the head flash. Furthermore Liverpool had two goalkicks and one free kick in the middle of the pitch which took them app 1 min 20 seconds.
So you could easily justify to add 3 minutes to the added time and we scored after 2,07.
So it is a mystery to me what Slot and his assistant were complaining about.
If it was the perceived push on Konate I dont know. But Konate did not even react in the situation. If he had the slightest idea that there was a free kick he and his 10 mates would raise their hands immediately. No one did.
13/02/2025 at 21:09:30
Condom head was moaning all game at the refs.
In the first half Diaz ran about 10 yards into Tarkowski whilst the ball was in the air. No attempt to challenge, just knocked him over.
Arse Slot was apoplectic at the award of a free kick to us. He's a prick.

Lyndon, depending on TV changes to the schedules, I think this could be the last midweek evening match. Would be great to go out on a high...
