Never bought into the silly idea that the Guardian that I read every day is somehow "anti- Everton" (although that Jonathan Liew piece on the Derby did, admittedly, drive me nuts).
Nice piece on Charly in today's/yesterday's Guardian, just in case you missed it

Danny, and of course there was Amadou Onana who could speak fluent English in an inner city London accent.

I was very worried replacing Dyche mid season could see us get relegated. I therefore can speak fluent gibberish!
COYB! Alcaraz is fluent in Football ⚽️💥 The stage is set for a wonderful home win tomorrow. It won't be easy, Man U's players will fancy it as well I suspect, seeing us as easier meat than most, after their 4-0 win at the leaky roof old crap ground they have lol.
May Moyes school Amorin in the language of, 'Get it up ya', in a Scottish accent come fulltime. COYB

I watched the post match interview with the two of them, with Jack translating. I'm not sure where he picked up Spanish. Possibly at school, or maybe during his time at college and playing in the States, given their large hispanic population?
On footballers with languages, Lukaku is just a show off. As well as his parents' native Congolese dialect, he boasts Dutch, French, English, Spanish, Italian and Portugese to his linguistic portfolio.
There's me thinking I'm good with my German, which is deteriorating through lack of regular use. I would never have claimed to have been fluent, but was pretty good. Now I must sound like a 3 year old, still learning to talk.
