Nottingham Forest vs Everton

The Blues continue their tough April programme with a trip to the City Ground to face this season's surprise package in the form of Nottingham Forest who have their sights set on an improbable Champions League spot.

David Moyes revealed that Jesper Lindstrøm has undergone surgery on a hernia problem and is unlikely to play again this season:

"Jesper has had a hernia operation yesterday so that will rule Jesper out for most of the season now.

"That's disappointing for him and for us because he started to show some decent form in the last month or so and he was an important player for us."

won’t see Jesper again and with DCL 3 weeks away I wouldn’t play him again either if he’s not staying.
Broja needs game time now, sack of Beto who’s on a barren run like DCL did before him.
Play adventurous eh, bench Decoure let’s see if we can entertain because it’s still mostly boring tripe getting served up.
Goodison still pretty much a morgue, what happens to the our vociferous away support which will be evident at Forest , when they attend home games I wonder
predict another snooze fest draw with not a lot of goals, let’s hope i’m wrong in all the right ways !

Moyes, like the managers before him, Carlo Ancelotti included, sees Doucoure as undroppable when fit.
If we grind out an away win, can't knock it I guess.
Forest looking nervous, we can win this one. COYB.

Excellent win. 4 points in 3 games against the top 3. Pity we kept that gravel voiced moron so long COYB

Easy Mick, Moyes is confirming much of Dyche's tactics and selections. How Dyche communicated and the pressure of repeated survival strained the manager/player relationship. It broke when Dyche tried to get a commitment from Friedkin to back him. The players likely felt they were being scapegoated. Trust was already damaged and in-game field instructions got weird.

Moyes is getting something extra from Myko, Harrison and Gana that Dyche could not by opening up at the back while in possession. Ndiaye is less isolated in Moyes' system and Alcaraz brings a more direct approach when the game opens up late.

You can't call it Mk II in my opinion but Dyche tried to deploy the same spacing in games he committed to winning. You can also see Moyes being conservative in how many creative players are in the eleven. Moyes simply appears to be a better builder of a system with second tier Premier League p.ayers.
