I agree with you regarding Johnson and now Maitland - Niles.It is a long time since Everton played two upfront. Those where better days.I have been trying to get a article together regarding the Friedkins Strategy with Everton, but I am discovering new information daily and the goal posts keep moving.Underdtanding the Strategy that the Friedkins have for Everton is difficult, but they do have one and it appears that Everton is run as a Corporates identity within the Friedkin Group and it part of a Multi Club strategy.I do not like the duming down of football expectations, which they seem to approve off, while pushing forward on Commercial considerations.They take their dividends, raise money with new share offers and look for outside investors.

Jerome, the Esk's latest breakdown debates whether or not TFG are looking to offload at some point. Frankly I think it's a much simpler observation. They paid circa 300m for the club, plus added investments took it to around 400m, offset by share sales and sales of shares so roughly back to the 300m.. The values of the club, depending on perspective could be around a billion, so the are looking fot a minority invest for let's just say, 300m.. funny that, TFG just about get a clean slate with the opportunity to make a killing with a quick sale or hold tight for another year and watch the values increase without much-needed expenditure. Good old Moyes, job well done, made a silk purse out of a sows ear..
Could really be that simple could it? They don't get involved and get a huge profit if they wanted to sell, or just add huge leverage to their already huge portfolio.

Perhaps Bezos getting connected to those luvable reds has made TFG think they can tempt Musk to make a rival investment.

Christine think your analysis is probably right, but I’d take it one step further.

I’m not convinced TFG necessarily want to sell Everton. They may simply be creating optionality — bring in minority investment, recover a substantial amount of their capital, retain control and let the value of the club grow.

Then they can hold, sell more later, or eventually sell outright.

For me, the key questions are: how much are they raising, at what valuation, and how much control are they giving up?

That may tell us more than the headline “TFG are looking to sell.”

I also think that they still have two things to deal with infrastructure investment and the Ueafa Multi Club regulation breach.They need the latter unravelled for a clean Sale.

By the way Moyes is the ideal Manager for them in this instance , no matter what I think of him .
