Write for Evertonia
TL;DR? Ironic, but we're building the go-to site for long-form Everton coverage. We'd love you to come on board!
With the advent of social media and click-bait websites, there is no shortage of places to get a quick fix of Everton news and, where Twitter/X and Bluesky are concerned, faster than ever. As traditional media is squeezed financially by this new reality, however, there can be a frustrating shortage of quality, in-depth football coverage, particularly of clubs like ours who long ago fell out of favour. Some of the old broadsheet papers have even stopped providing weekly match reports on Everton matches.
We're told that in this age of smartphones and doom-scrolling, people don't read anymore but at Evertonia, formerly 1878 Magazine, we believe there is still an audience for considered, passionate, long-form articles about the world's greatest football club. Content that is beautifully and cleanly presented, with only minimal advertising, written by Blues like you, free of AI, and supplemented by news items on the biggest stories and the Evertonia Podcast which was re-branded from ToffeeWeb at the beginning of 2025.
The goal when 1878 Magazine was first launched in 2014 was to create a home for the best Evertonian writers to showcase their work; a go-to place on the Web for fans to read regular, high-quality pieces on their club and engage in measured, cordial and respectful discussion with fellow Toffees.
That remains the hope and aspiration for Evertonia. We have some wonderful writers, like Ell Bretland, Rob Sawyer, Paul Tran and John Raftery, providing top-class content but in order for the site to grow, it needs more voices, a consistent flow of submissions.
If you've ever thought of starting a website, blog, Substack or Medium account to publish your work, why not consider coming on board at Evertonia instead? And if you are really wedded to having a standalone presence on the Web, we'd be more than happy to cross-post your articles to provide exposure for your work and added content for our readers here.
If that sounds like you, let us know or send in an article for consideration. In the meantime, feel free to create a member account so you can join in the discussions or get in touch with any questions, feedback or issues.
And, last but not least, Up The Toffees! 💙
