Everton have bolstered their options at left-back with the capture of exciting young Moroccan international, Adam Aznou from Bayern Munich.

The Blues concluded an initial €9m deal with the German giants last week and the 19-year-old travelled to Merseyside over the weekend to undergo a medical and was unveiled as the fourth permanent signing of the summer this afternoon.

He is expected to fly out to join his new team-mates in the United States in order to bond with the squad and, hopefully, get some minutes in Sunday's friendly with Manchester United in Atlanta.

Spanish-born and a product of Barcelona's youth academy, Aznou spent part of last season on loan at Real Valladolid and looked set to join Getafe earlier this month but the move fell through.

He remained set on leaving Bayern for first-team football, however, and informed them of his desire to secure a move elsewhere this summer which prompted Everton to move for him.

“I'm so happy to be here. I'm so proud to be part of this team," he said upon joining the club on  a four-year deal at Hill Dickinson Stadium which would tie him to the Toffees until 2029. “The project they gave me is really good. The Premier League is the best league in the world so I'm really excited to start.

“The stadium is really nice. It gives you a good feeling and it's good for our fans to support us. It's perfect for us. I just have to say I'm really thankful to be here. I'm really proud so I will give everything in every training session and every game.”

"[The manager] talked with me, he spoke with me about the team and how he wants me. So I decided directly when I spoke with him. I decided really quickly because of the words he gave me. He gave me confidence, so I decided to sign.”

The agreed transfer, which reportedly contains a sell-on clause inserted by Bayern, could eventually be worth €12m once all appearance-related add-ons are factored in.

Young player who has clearly had a good grounding in the game at a good price. Looks like a promising signing. Let's keep them coming!

He's a left back - but appears to be signing the form with his right hand?

Yea, I think he can play both sides, but doesn't matter, this is where we should be shopping. Good luck to him.

Shrewd business by Everton and hopefully they'll be a few more good value signings in the next couple of weeks.

I thought we were looking for a left back, that was going to be immediate competition for Myko.
Whereas, it seems, that this lad is a little way off starting.
Don’t get me wrong, I don’t doubt, that he has potential.

But, Didn’t DCL have potential, when we signed him?.. only to turn out, that he had potential, to have Potential.

It seems strange, that we are very short of personnel, for the here and now and we are looking at late starters.

This can only confirm, that we are going to to sign a hell of a lot of players, as we need immediate starters.

Ok! I’m readying myself for a salvo, but, please be mindful, that, it’s only my opinion and I’m normally an optimistic kind of person.
But, let’s also be mindful, that, Everton also seems to stifle Optimism !
