Everton are reportedly eyeing two potential centre-forwards, with David Moyes keen to address a key shortcoming of his squad during the January transfer window.

Summer acquisition, Thierno Barry, has scored three times this season and Beto just twice in the Premier League which has prompted the Blues' transfer commitee to seek solutions in the market this month.

Speculation over the past 48 hours appeared to have solidified around Moroccan forward Youssef En-Nesyri, with The Athletic and Fabrizio Romano suggesting that Everton are seriously interested in the 28-year-old, although the former contests the latter's claim that a loan offer with an €20m buy option has been lodged by insisting that no official approach has yet been made to Fenerbahçe.

According to Sky Germany, Nottingham Forest are also keen on En-Nesyri but that the player's preference is to sign for Everton while there are noises out of Turkey this evening that Napoli have submitted a bid for him.

Meanwhile, Callum Wilson has also entered the equation amid speculation he could leave West Ham before the transfer deadline.

Wilson is said to be in negotiations with the Hammers over an agreement to terminate his contract at the London Stadium early rather than see it out for the remainder of the season.

En-Nesyri, who has been on international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations and scored the winning penalty to take Morocco into the final, has been with Fenerbahçe since moving to Turkey for around €20m in the summer of 2014. He has scored 38 goals in 77 appearances in all competitions for the Istanbul giants having notched 73 in almost 200 games for Sevilla.

For his part, Wilson has scored just four times in 18 matches for struggling West Ham after joining them from Newcastle. 34 next month, the ex-Bournemouth marksman would bring much-needed experience to Everton's front line, although he has a chequered injury record in recent seasons.

Despite only scoring 4 goals,Wilson is still actually the leading goal scorer in a poor West Ham team.Long term, he’s obviously not the answer, particularly in view of the injury problems he’s had over the past couple of seasons. But in the short term, and provided he’s fit, I honestly think he could do a decent job for us between now and the end of the season. He knows the Premier League really well and is an England international. And I’m convinced he’d have put away the kind of chances that Barry and Beto were missing in those early games.Like I say, if he’s fit, then I can’t see any reason not to sign him on a short term contract until the end of the season. If he can chip in with 4 or 5 important goals that help improve our league position come the season’s end, then what’s the problem? And with N’Diyae, Grealish and Dewsbury-Hall all due back shortly to hopefully provide some service, I’d definitely trust Wilson to make more of that service than our current two strikers!!

Aye, David. Wilson's experience might also enhance the development of the other strikers somewhat. Well, maybe Barry - I think Beto just is what he is.

I think CW is by far the best option provided he is not one of the long list of those who fall in love with the treatment room at Finch Farm & sees it as a cushy home from home until segueing seamlessly into punditry heaven.
He has many desirable qualities, like the Club (from quotes) & again from reports is on the same wavelength as Jack G.
A foil to Ndiaye perhaps?
He could be the ideal mentor to Barry although I despair of the likeable but dire Beto.
Money has to be right though not just a 'new face' for the sake of it.

I can't see Moyes going for Wilson, I don't think he's got the legs for it.

What’s wrong with Moyes legs?

You misunderstand me sir. Moyes has a fantastic set of pins, but I believe he is doubtful of Callum's capacity to run about.

Lyndon, I know we are desperate, but Callum Wilson ? He is 34 in a couple of weeks, troubled by injuries and sadly well past his best. This season Calvert Lewin is proving to be miles better than our Two B's and I fear that young Harry Tyler, who is apparently going to Cardiff, would be a better bet than the two keepers we signed this summer. I am not sure just who is in charge of our recruitment, and in the present circumstances feel we should wait until the summer and then with more time and more players available we have a better chance of making better choices. In the meantime let's give Michael Keane a go as a number 9 if he is willing.

One of the things I like best of being a passionate supporter is arguing and discussing with like minded people the merits of individual players. From experience it's clear that we all have our favourites and sadly these days the life of a Club Player is often very short. With this in mind I have today read that one of my current favourite players is apparently no longer wanted by his present Club.

The player concerned is a right back, so if he is available I would hope that our 'transfer committee' would give his apparent availability serious consideration. I am of course referring to Trent Alexander Arnold, who it appears is no longer to be part of Real Madrids New Managers plans.

I know what many will say,' He played for them ', ' He cannot defend ' etc. But just as Jack Grealish has been a joy to watch this season so in my opinion is Trent. In fact in all my long years of watching matches I have not seen many players who could match his passing ability.

So seriously, I cannot see Jack Grealish being with us next season and Trent could just be the celebrity replacement signing we need. So come Boys, let's start the campaign from this Site, we have a Beautiful New Stadium, and what a joy it would be if we could begin to play Beautiful Football.
