Everton draw on last reserves to collect another fine away win
Crystal Palace 1 - 2 Everton
The Blues continued their incredible revival under David Moyes, gutting through the physical and emotional hangover from the Merseyside derby to beat Palace with Charly Alcaraz netting the winner on his full debut
As transformations go, the one undergone by Everton since David Moyes returned “home” last month has been extraordinary. From the team that couldn’t score — they managed just six in the last 11 fixtures under Sean Dyche — or look remotely capable of winning matches, the Blues have now won four of their last five and are averaging two goals a game under the wily Scot. A point above the relegation zone in mid-January, Everton’s 13-point cushion means they’re currently closer to the Champions League spots than the bottom three.
Perhaps just as remarkable is the fact that Beto, widely written off as being a £26m flop, has notched four goals in three since being thrust into the limelight by Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s hamstring injury. Ungainly and certainly unorthodox but deadly in front of goal at the moment, the Portuguese had seemingly left everything on the Goodison Park pitch on Wednesday but summoned the energy at Selhurst Park this afternoon to put on another lung-busting display.
His opener, another impressively composed one-on-one finish, may have been wiped out by disappointingly poor defending at the start of the second half but both he and the Blues would be rewarded for gutting through the physical and emotional hangover from the midweek drama of the Merseyside derby when Charly Alcaraz plundered a winner on his full debut.
This had all the makings of a tough assignment for Everton, not just because of how much they had poured into the 2-2 draw with Liverpool just three days ago and the selection headache handed to Moyes by Iliman Ndiaye's injury and Abdoulaye Doucouré's suspension. Having recovered from a surprisingly poor start to the season under Oliver Glasner, Crystal Palace had lost just once all year in all competitions and had lifted themselves to 12th in the table coming into the weekend.
With all those factors combined, it wasn’t all that surprising that the Toffees struggled in the early going of this contest, with Jordan Pickford forced to make two key saves inside the first 10 minutes. A mistake by James Tarkowski and an uncharacteristic miscue by Jarrad Branthwaite let the in-form Jean-Philippe Mateta in but his low drive was saved smartly and smothered while the England keeper initially spilled Justin Devenny’s powerful effort but gathered at the second attempt.
Pickford had to be alert again in the 19th minute to parry Marc Guehi’s header and though Jefferson Lerma would have the ball in the net a minute later, his goal was chalked off due to the fact that the corner from which he’d scored had bent out of play before reaching him at the back post.
Having weathered that early storm, Everton began to find their feet. Jack Harrison swept a dangerous ball across the box from the left flank and then chipped Alcaraz’s pass to the back post where Beto was crowded out at the crucial moment as he tried to get on the end of Jesper Lindstrøm’s cushioned back-post volley.
Alcaraz, playing in Doucouré's role behind Beto, then exhibited his self-confidence with two ambitious efforts from distance, one comfortably saved and the other that flew well over the crossbar but the first half would pivot on an incident in the 41st minute that came from more indecision at the back from the visitors. Everton just couldn’t get a purposeful foot on the ball, Chris Richards bundled his way into the box where Ismaila Sarr looked odds-on to score but smacked his shot off the underside of the bar.
A few moments later it was 1-0 to Everton following a bizarre error by Tyrick Mitchell from a routine throw-in near the halfway line. The Eagles’ left back inexplicably threw the ball behind Lerma and Alcaraz pounced, racing away before sliding a perfectly-weighted pass to Beto. The striker took the time to set himself as Dean Henderson and the covering defender collapsed the space and he calmly side-footed it with just enough elevation to clear the goalkeeper’s out-stretched leg.
A goal down at the break, Glasner responded with two positive changes in Eberechi Eze and Adam Wharton that quickly threatened to turn the match on its head as Palace made a strong start after the interval. After Richards’s header bounced behind off Branthwaite’s head, and Lindstrøm’s clearance from the resulting corner was played back into the area, Tarkowski needlessly tried to take responsibility for a header that Jake O’Brien had covered and the ball dropped to Mateta to fire past Pickford from a central position.
Offering the hosts a more dynamic and penetrative presence from deep positions, Eze had two chances in quick succession, the first he blazed narrowly over while the second was deflected behind but, in between, the Blues underlined their threat in transition with a slick move that released Alcaraz to drive forward and feed Lindstrøm. The Dane cut back smartly on his left foot but his attempt to bend the ball into the far corner was foiled by a diving one-handed save from Henderson.
And Lindstrøm was involved again shortly afterwards when he collected O’Brien’s smart ball down the right touchline and drilled a centre from the byline that Beto touched goal-wards but Henderson did well to block on his goal line to keep things all square.
Idrissa Gueye had a shot deflected past the far post but as Glasner turned to his bench again while Moyes was forced by a chronic lack of options due to injury and suspension to delay any changes, it felt as though Palace might be able to benefit from greater energy levels and home advantage in the final 20 minutes.
Substitute Ben Chilwell was played in behind O’Brien and Lindstrøm and struck a shot aiming for far post but was skidding wide when Pickford helped it on its way and the subsequent corner was cleared.
However, it was Moyes’s own late sub, Ashley Young, who had a hand in the winner as Everton’s will prevailed with 10 minutes to go. They kept the ball after a free-kick wide on the left was repelled and when Harrison swung a deep cross to the back post, O’Brien headed back across goal where the ball struck Chilwell on the arm.
The away fans erupted in pleas for a penalty but with the ball still live, Young crashed a shot into Will Hughes’s midriff in the six-yard box and when it rebounded to Alcaraz, the Argentine kept his head to place a controlled finish wide of Henderson and restore Everton’s precious lead.
True to expectation, Palace poured forward in the closing stages, with Glasner withdrawing Maxence Lacroix in favour of another attacker in Eddie Nketiah but while it made for a nervy finalé, the Blues held firm. Eze went close with an effort that he screwed across the face of Pickford’s goal and inches past the far post but, in general, Everton handled the assault with aplomb, saw out the victory and completed the double over the Eagles for the season to the delight of massed ranks of travelling fans in the away section.
If there were any lingering doubts that Everton’s injury crisis might yet seem them struggle to keep the threat of relegation at bay, this excellent away performance and win will effectively banish them. Depending on what happens between Tottenham and Manchester United tomorrow, Moyes’s men will finish the weekend in either 13th or 14th spot and need just three wins and a draw from their final 13 games to reach the 40-point mark.
On current form, that will come sooner than anyone dared hope under the Scot’s predecessor. How quickly the outlook can change…

Fantastic report Lyndon. Gold standard to my eye.
Thank heavens for Evertonia, coinciding with the rebirth of Everton as as a much more potent footballing force under the Moyesiah!
15/02/2025 21:47:15
Great report Lyndon. I can't really get my head around how good we have suddenly become. Playing to our strengths, not being afraid to attack the game, pushing our full backs up, trying to win! All of that along with the confidence of good results and rebuilding the bond between the team and the fans. It's a good time to be an Evertonian.

Excellent battling performance from the blues. Nice little bonus being Monday night's trip to BMD for the U18 game.
15/02/2025 22:09:18
One win from here would likely do the trick and keep us up. Moyes needed to get us 5 wins before the end of the season and he already has 4 in the bag. Brilliant work from all involved.
15/02/2025 22:10:18
Excellent report again Lyndon. What a performance from a group of players who were labelled not good enough a few weeks ago. The players are obviously happy and enjoying their football again and it is all down to David Moyes.
15/02/2025 22:15:32
Excellent report as always Lyndon. What a transformation under David Moyes. Six points from our last two difficult away games means we are not just relying on the Goodison factor. The bonus for Evertonians is positive football, goals, a smile on the players faces and our incredible away fans being rewarded for their amazing support. Hopefully it will be onwards and upwards. Who could ever have forecast any of this when the news broke of David Moyes appointment. COYB or maybe we can start using NSNO again at some point in the future!

What a magnificent win.
I really feared for us today, after Wednesdays exertions.
Pickfords early save down to his right was crucial.
At 1-1, after 60 minutes, with Palace having brought on 3 pairs of fresh legs, I thought a draw, 2 points out of 2 tough games, would represent a great result. We looked tired.
To go on to win the game was absolutely superb. Beto put in some shift, MoM for me. Whatever his shortcomings, and I have been quite prepared to comment on them, he ran himself into the ground and took his goal so well.
Branthwaite was superb, and OBrien looks to be hewn out of the same stone.
Still down in Dorset, the non-red locals were full of admiration for our Club.
15/02/2025 22:46:47
Fantastic! More than a bounce now, it's a habit.
15/02/2025 22:50:09
Superb match report as always, Lyndon. This site will now be my main Everton resource.
We rode our luck at times today but theres a great spirit and togetherness and players who looked out of sorts a matter of weeks ago are now showing some fight and confidence. Long may it continue.
I dont want to criticise Dyche too much because I think, over time it will be noted how well he did keeping us on the division with the hand he was dealt. I was okay with the return of Moyes but not overjoyed. I felt it was a safe appointment but he has exceeded all my expectations. Fair play to Moyes. If we can back him in the summer and make BMD a fortress then we should banish the dalliances with relegation.
It feels good to be a Blue again!

What a transformation in attitude and application. Players like Obrien and Beto couldn't get a game and were written off as bad buys. They're now worth their weight in gold.
Massive kudos to Moyesy and his team for bringing the feelgood factor back into the club and hopefully a good budget to create a team worthy of BMD for the future.
6 weeks ago I was wondering where the points would come from to save us now all thoughts of relegation have been banished and I am looking forward to seeing how high up the table we can finish.
15/02/2025 23:19:10
Great write-up, Lyndon. Thanks.
He's gone, but a number of times, today included, in the games since Moyes arrived, I've wondered why Dyche didn't do what Davy has done.
Add an attack.
16/02/2025 00:04:45
Ah Lyndon,it's like you never left. Wonderful writing.
15/02/2025 00:17:49
In the circumstances this was a fabulous result. Most of our players were running on empty well before the closing stages.
Once again though every player went through the pain barrier to ensure we didnt concede a second goal. The winner fell nicely to Alcaraz whose arrival in the closing minutes of the transfer window looks even more important now than it did at the time. Charly has settled into the team more quickly than we could have imagined possible.
What a tremendous performance from Beto! He ran himself daft closing down opponents, fought for every ball, proved a real handful for the highly rated Guehi and took his goal clinically. With his wholehearted effort he is rapidly establishing himself as a genuine ‘cult hero.
Some might describe our elevated position in the league table as mid-table mediocrity. After several years of fighting relegation battles it feels absolutely marvellous.
16/02/2025 00:23:15
I like the cut of Alcarazs jib, from fighting coppers on Wednesday night to setting up the opener and scoring the winner today. Best not say it out loud yet, but we might have unearthed a diamond here…
16/02/2025 00:27:27
Just got home.
I cant really explain how different I feel from how I felt getting home from the Southampton game earlier in the season.
Chalk and cheese.
Thank you David Moyes.
Thank you James Tarkowski.
Thank you Beto.
Thank you Charly Alcatraz.
Thank you my mates in the away end.
Ive got my Everton back!

Well thats me over here now!
Fantastic week. When you consider the adrenalin the players gave midweek, when you consider the shortage of numbers available today weve been incredible.
I have to say I was not in favour of Moyes returning but good on him transforming us
16/02/2025 00:56:29
Some of us will remember the feeling of having our pride restored after a long dark proof. Well that feeling is back. It does feel like my Everton again after a period where I questioned whether I could be bothered such was my disgust at our approach to games.
This form can't last. We may well still go through some pretty bad spells. But I'm confident that we'll at least compete in matches. It's a big step up.
16/02/2025 01:31:52
What West ham Fans would do for Moysee now eh!
Is it just me, or is there a certain cool, calm, and composed demeanor about moysee now,
It's like we've got the updated version,
Long may it continue

Dyche got it badly wrong this season!! These players are capable of playing football.Thank God we have a proper manager who wants the players to try and win and score goals. In 6 League games we have scored 12 goals and it has helped us get 13 points. The players must be so much happier since the change in management.
16/02/2025 02:55:32
Just back from the game. One of the more notable things about this team compared to how they performed under Dyche, is their new-found freedom to play beyond a rigid game-plan.
I believe this is directly as a result of our new manager. Now, I remember the Moyes of old, he could at times be frustrating in his strict control and playing to a certain system and woe betide a player found out of position or trying speculative potential possession losing passes forward
Moyes has evolved, hes much more flexible and he (and Everton) are much the better for this.
16/02/2025 03:27:30
This is the bar now; it's no longer acceptable not to give 100%, even though we played in midweek. Emotionally it would have taken a lot out of the players, but they have had 3 days to calm down, and should be professional enough to refocus. It was a very good performance on Wednesday, but we didn't have extra time, just the normal 90 plus minutes.
Well done to all involved and to our manager for insisting that they go again.
What a week to be a blue.
15/02/2025 03:28:36
Ive found myself reminded over and over again these past few years that, despite the overall misery and despair weve experienced as Evertonians, sport can be beautiful and unifying and joyous and surprising.
Even as we battled relegation year after year, and the Lampards and Calvert-Lewins and Dyches and Doucoures and Betos and Moyses had abuse hurled their way left and right, our mighty Blues found a way to keep us afloat to live to see a new day and enter a new era.
And then in the blink of an eye it all changes. Despite the injuries and fearsome names on the opposing team sheets and the fear of relegation yet again hanging over our heads, weve mustered the will to overcome it all.
I could go on about the individual performances, but the truth is that football will forever be a team game. And that includes our supporters, who are tireless in their commitment and resilience. As I told my wife today, on my 43rd birthday, wearing my Everton gear over here in Minnesota and acting like a child mimicking the Beto goal celebration, there is no better moment in sport than hearing the Everton away supporters singing to the players after such a gutsy performance like they put in today.
Thanks, Lyndon, and all my fellow Blues, and of course our players and coaching staff, for making this wild ride so memorable. Up the Toffees.

Outstanding result... Airs of 1983...
Tremendous character and spirit by the squad today.
Hopefully no injuries were sustained... But a nice feeling in my Heart and Soul for all matters Everton.
Moyes has lifted the squad and fair credit where it's due.Confidence and belief...

A different side and a different manager. People complained about Moyes but he has obviously learnt a lot after all these years. We are actually passing the ball along the floor! Who would have thought. Some of the slick passing moves are a joy. New signing looks like he has fitted straight in and is enjoying his new surroundings. We can actually look forward to the game after so much negative dross being served up. I'm flying over in April and hoping to get a pair of tickets for the Arsenal game. I live in hope!
16/02/2025 07:38:53
What a week to be a Blue, absolutely fantastic to be on the up… long may it continue, lets all make sure we keep the positivity going and keep getting right behind Moysie and the lads it doesnt half help them!
This site looks great, looking forward to see how it evolves in the coming months!
16/02/2025 08:12:35
A most enjoyable read again Lyndon'thank you.
What a result. My pre match concerns were realised early on in the game, the players not quite on the money after a storming performance in the derby, and the disruptive result of injuries and suspension to the flow of the teams present belief and application, but they did it,they played through it and gave us a massive 3 points.Silghtly jaded and disjointed initiallly, they grew into their tasks, riding the early storm from Palace,to hit them with another well taken Beto beaut, calm and composed,GET IN !!!
Hiccup again within minutes of the half time break, but we battled on,giving as good as we got, continuing to drive forward and thus resulting in the well earned goal for Charley, nice one.!
Its not going to happen all the time, but my god, when it does,it makes your heart go Worrrrrrrrrr !,
Fantastic performance again by our travelling fans, credit to you and thank you.COYB

What a Nugget Alcaraz could turn out to be.
Only early days yet, I know, but,
Since he has been on the Park,
He has shown all the attributes of a complete Number 10. Always showing up,
He has vision, can tackle hard
And he can take a nice Free Kick.
16/02/2025 08:32:17
Great match review Lyndon, many thanks. Good times ahead for the magnificent Blues.
16/02/2025 08:48:58
We're back. I'm 10 years older, but we're back.
So's my smile.
16/02/2025 09:50:52
Side 21, that's just how I see it too.
Only one new player added to the squad, a couple of movements in the existing squad, O'brien to rb and Harrison to the left, and as you say, a new freedom to play.
The extra that brings out of our guys is huge, they can express themselves, and we can enjoy it with them.
I was not promoting Moyes because I didn't want to go back, but Moyes 2 has evolved, now it's time the club does that, bring it on. :)
16/02/2025 09:53:45
Sorry Sid, no edit button
16/02/2025 10:03:08
Well done again, Beto once again worked his socks off and the goals he has scored lately DCL wouldnt have put any of them away. I thought Tim looked good when he came on and I would like to see a bit more of him, Harrison on the left makes him look a far better player, but again Garner frustrates me, he worked hard all game but his distribution for anything over 20 yards needs to improve. I think we got a bit lucky in a couple of instances, but the improvement since Moyes has been like night and day. We are definately looking up as opposed to down now as only 3 or maybe 4 points required to completely banish any relegation thought, but how about a push into europe, I do say in jest of course, but if man city can win 10 or 12 on the trot, Martinez was the last man that allowed us to dream so can Moyes MK11 do the same
16/02/2025 10:03:47
I know it's early days but what a difference Alcaraz has made in his two cameo appearances as sub, and then yesterday from the start. I think whoever spotted his availability, needs a commendation. Or it could have been an agent (?) although I wasn't aware of him, apart from when at Southampton, until a couple of days before the window shut.
I think needless to say, he is everything Doucoure isn't, or hopefully was ! Moyes has transformed Beto and a number of players, and we have some to return from injury too, the sooner the better. Imagine what he may do for them confidence wise.
I wasn't overjoyed when I heard we were touting Moyes as Dyche's successor, although under him, things were verging on desperation for anyone, just to see him get 10 lace-holes and 10 minutes to get his shit out of Finch Farm.
My opposition to Moyes was not because of any lingering memories from his time before, where he had reached the imaginary glass ceiling, but we were perennially safe under his tutelage.
My opposition was based on my belief that it very rarely works out for either a player or a Manager to be more successful second time round. Also coupled with his connection to the Maggot, the man that almost destroyed Everton, while claiming to be the best Evertonian on the planet.
I am glad enough, and man enough, to admit I was wrong with Moyes, but NOT with the Maggot ! Again early days but barring a disaster it looks like we are safe from any threat of relegation. 13 games left too, which surely we can garner some more points from, even if we manage half (roughly) of the potential points available we could be quite comfortable. I doubt whether Euro qualification is even a remote possibility, but places further up yield a decent pay day from the Premiership.
Even Harrison looks a different player, although I am not suggesting that he be made permanent next season by any means. Just a few more Alcaraz type bargains will do nicely.
16/02/2025 11:04:03
Derek@34
Alcaraz looks a real find and doesnt look out of place in the EPL. Thelwell deserves some credit for that.
16/02/2025 12:28:01
Lyndon, this cycle is working for me, at least as the wins keep happening. This is well worth the wait and the anticipation nicely extends the experience. Also, on the need for an edit button, there is none actually. It is a good habit to write it up on a note with phone or tablet, then cut and paste. This helps with keeping the temperature of posts reasonable as well.
On the match, humbled again. I see Jay Harris has posted above. Jay, Christy was gracious enough to give me a pass for poor responses to anti-Dyche posts at the other place. I hope you can as well. And as before, a second apology for being just flat wrong about where we were with personnel and leadership.
Moyes is likely finding a voice that he missed in his travels away from Everton. While never really an inspiring figure, David does possess an integrity, one that was not well served by his exit. These players seem to still have a hunger even though most of us sensed overwhelmed exhaustion in their play. The amazing thing is how Moyes figured out the message and tactics that is securing this form.
It is hard to accept but yet undeniable in the proof we all see. Moyes is the right man for Everton right now. Football analysis is a humbling art form.
16/02/2025 12:32:50
Though they were productive together against Leicester, let us hope that Moyes recognises that both Doucoure and Beto are pretty blunt instruments.
Play one or the other, but don't play them together.
Alcaraz needs to be shown patience as he is quite raw, but he is my favourite player othe than Ndiaye already.
I hold my hands up. Moyes is doing well with this squad. He has really surprised me.
16/02/2025 12:35:13
Busted, I did not use a note, and P3 final sentence should read "are securing"
16/02/2025 13:38:40
A typical game of 2 halves for me. First half I thought we were suffering a hangover from Wednesday with too many mistakes and no rhythm to our play and were perhaps lucky not to be at least 2 down before we scored. Second half a much improved performance and well deserving of all 3 points.
On another point thinking of the youthful bench and the summer rebuild required looking at the squad yesterday we could put out an 11 of Pickford, Patterson, OBrien, Branthwaite, Mykolenko Ndiaye, Garner, Iroegbunam, Alcaraz (assuming we exercicse the option) and Chermiti. Pickford is still relatively young for a keeper at 30 and everyone else is 25 or younger. I appreciate a few players are still to prove themselves or have questions against their ability but it does show we have the basis of a decent young squad to build on.
16/02/2025 13:41:13
Alacaraz's signing now seems to have been a bit of a blessing.
Many scoffed at the signing, but now Ndiaye is missing he could (has to) be the guy who steps up.
His work rate was good yesterday, his composure for the goal was excellent, when alot of players would have lashed at it.
Not many more appearances untill we have to take up his option, so looks like he's here to stay !
Are we really going into the last part of the season without pressure of relagation?
It can turn as quickly the other way , so complacency must not come into it now, I'm sure moyes won't allow that !
16/02/2025 13:44:43
great report Lyndon. it is quite remarkable how if you get one appointment right, so many other things improve. Such is the improvement we can get to the end of the season mid table, and start dreaming of Europe next year. Two months ago, we were heading for oblivion. Set to be gobbled up by Textor, and stuck with Dyche's one goal in ten games.
And now we're finally back to buying good players again. Alcaraz is an absolute diamond. He seems to anticipate the inexplicable throw in and is at full pelt it seems before the ball is thrown, it could well have been a Jedi Mind trick. If so, more power to him. As Lyndon notes, then a perfectly weighted pass whilst running at full pelt. When's the last time we saw one of those? And the second goal, a one touch finish. Placed into the goal. I knew he was going to be good from his interview, when he spoke about 'wearing this beautiful shirt'. some footballers just have that buccaneering confidence, A la Tim Cahill.
16/02/2025 14:10:46
Non football related comment. Kudos to referee Antony Taylor and his real reluctance to book players. Garner deserved his but that was it for the whole 96 minutes and the game was better for it.
16/02/2025 14:39:34
Excellent report Lyndon, as always. Brilliant result for the blues, lets keep this going, stack as many points as possible before seasons end.
16/02/2025 14:52:22
Great and timely report Lyndon.
Check you passports everyone. It is still possible we might need them. Okay, I'm getting carried away and ahead of myself!! One step at a time.
@Lyndon, I'm about to post. Can this go in the Match Review section this week? I couldn't find a home for the Bournemouth match so it went into transfers.
Obviously, I'll let you decide where it belongs, if you want it published.
16/02/2025 15:28:16
Howard, 42. I agree, the ref had a great game as he was mostly anonymous and let the game flow when he could.
Is it just me or does Moyes suddenly look at least 10 years younger? If he dyed his hair itd be like going through a time warp.
Great battling result yesterday, Beto put an incredible shift in.
Alcaraz already looks like an upgrade on Doucoure, though its still very early days he looks promising.
Love being a happy blue!
16/02/2025 16:49:27
Fantastic run of results. Still work to do but the bulk of the heavy lifting has been done. We wouldn't have wanted to be going into our set of April fixtures in a pressure situation.
16/02/2025 17:08:33
I'm here because Toffeeweb made it so! Great write up. Delighted, like everyone, with the turnaround over the last month. Also feels like now Moyes is older he's wiser, calmer...and seemingly passing on his wisdom and confidence to those around him.
16/02/2025 21:06:06
Super super win. Feels good to be a Blue!
16/02/2025 21:12:27
Fantastic result, dug deep after the psychological effects of the derby must of took a toll on the players.
Beto look to be coming good, I always thought there was good player there just needed the right manager to utilise his style.
16/02/2025 21:40:00
Jamie #48, it was a great game and I knew you enjoyed the evening just as much as I did, but separate facts from fiction please.
The fights had nothing to do with the anthem. Nothing. Zero. Zilch.
The Tkachuks and Miller planned ahead in a group chat to come out and challenge specific players, not the Canadians in general. And then they lost two of the three fights. Miller should have chosen a smaller guy to cross-check than Parayko.
The game was fantastic enough that it doesn't require additional embroidery.
17/02/2025 07:50:14
Fascinating to hear that DM had words at half time, about he was disappointed about the first half performance. Then we concede an early 2nd half goal, but overall the 2nd half performance was much better, and we get a deserved winner. Thank you DM.
17/02/2025 10:57:35
Great result (yet again !). The usual season run-in anxiety is lifting and it's looking like we can actually enjoy the last few games at GP, free from the spectre of the drop. Beto has been re-discovered just when we needed it most - adding composure and a great touch to his physical presence, all bolstered by a more progressive style of football which prioritises playing for a win, over merely avoiding defeat.

What a result! What a few days! The last gasp goal in the derby. The hilarity of the Redshite players, management and fans paroxsym of tantrums. And now a depleted and tired team giving everything, displaying a belief in themselves and a resilience that could not be conceived of only a few weeks ago. My blue 💙 is bursting with pride.
