Roma to return to raise the curtain on Hill Dickinson Stadium
Everton's pre-season curtain-raiser ahead of the 2025/26 season will be another friendly against AS Roma, a game that will double as the final test event for the Club's new ground at Bramley-Moore Dock.
Hill Dickinson Stadium will be put through its final paces for a third time before its safety certificates can be approved and the 52,888-seater arena can play host to its first competitive fixture, the date of which will be confirmed when the Premier League fixtures for the new campaign are released later this week.
Roma, who are owned by Everton's majority shareholders, The Friedkin Group, were the Blues' opponents for Goodison Park's final pre-season match a year ago prior to TFG's takeover bid being launched.
They make even more sense this time around with the Houston-based company having completed their buy-out of the Club last December and set about the process of putting Everton back on a sound footing following the chaos of the Farhad Moshiri years.
The Toffees will play Roma on Saturday 9 August at 3pm BST.
