Charly Alcaraz and James Garner scored a goal apiece as Everton beat Port Vale 2–1 in a friendly at Hill Dickinson Stadium today.

The fixture was added to the Toffees' pre-season schedule as David Moyes seeks to familiarise his players with their new dockside surroundings as the first Premier League season at the 52,000+ ground approaches.

Alcaraz finished off a nice move don the right by firing home Nathan Patterson's cross before Garner hammered home a free-kick from distance to complete Everton's recovery from conceding the first goal.

Jordan Pickford featured for the first time this summer but Jarrad Branthwaite, Michael Keane and Tim Iroegbunam were rested.

New signing Thierno Barry is expected to make his first pre-season appearance when the team takes on Bournemouth in New Jersey this weekend.

Fingers crossed on this guy. He did a couple of nice things last season.

See what happens when the league catches up to him.
