The Everton Fan Advisory Board has asked the club to take into consideration the financial burden on supporters when it comes to ticketing, concessions and membership as plans are put in place for the 2026/27 season.

The supporter-elected body shared a proposal with the Everton hierarchy in November that has now been published and which focuses on those three key areas.

Specifically, the FAB has called for a three-year freeze on ticket and general admission prices to coincide with the conclusion of the current Premier League broadcasting deal, three-year protection of all current concession categories, and a minimum £10 reduction on membership fees plus the introduction of a new membership aimed at making them more affordable.

In a statement, the group set out the basis of its recommendations, saying:

“Our football club is a very different one to that of 12 months ago. New ownership, new leadership and an iconic new home. We welcome the progress that has been made, the organisational discipline and the financial stability that is allowing us to build for a successful future, enhanced further by the Chief Executive’s recent statement that this year the Club expects to announce record commercial revenues.

“This coincides at a time when nationally, Premier League clubs are reaping the benefits of record commercial and broadcast deals.

“With these foundations in place, we believe it is more important than ever that our game does not impose barriers that risk leaving behind communities of match-going supporters that made football what it is today.”

Let's not forget how much season tickets went up last year. In the region of 30 per cent.

I base this on the £650 cost of an adult season ticket for anywhere in the Lower Bullens at Goodison last season. I sat five or six rows from the front, in line with the centre circle.

For a side view at Bramley-Moore, I chose the Lower East. The cost for an adult season ticket in line with the six-yard box was £850. A seat nearer the centre circle in the Lower East was even more expensive.

I don't know what the percentage increase was for other parts of the ground, but 30 per cent might be the average "ballpark figure".

Yes, the new stadium is technically better. But I certainly believe supporters have paid enough of an increase for the time being. Especially with the huge amounts of broadcast payments flowing into the club.
